IN THE OPENING CHAPTER of Lauren Oliver's Delirium, 17-year-old Lena Haloway takes a mandatory state evaluation designed to determine what kind of wife she will be. Even though she has rehearsed her answers a million times, some impulsive, un-tameable part of her rises up as she faces the panel of government officials.
Magdalena Ella Haloway, best known as Lena, is a normal girl from Portland, Maine. She is the main character in Delirium, Pandemonium, and Requiem and has supporting roles in numerous short stories. In Lena's society, love is considered deadly and a disease.
Lena is still living in the Wilds, an unregulated area outside of the city. She is now an active member of the resistance, which is fighting against the government and its mandated cure of Delirium. Meanwhile, Hana is cured of Delirium and living a privileged and safe life in Portland.

Lena and Alex finally admit that they love one another, and the book ends at the perfect spot for me: The townspeople tearing down the wall separating them all--with a few surprises regarding Lena's family as well. I loved it.
Despite these negative feelings, Lena's already fragile emotional state is shattered when she finds out that not only is her mother still alive, but she escaped from a mental institution where she was being held for life. So she's out there, somewhere. Still being her mom and all.
It is unclear whether Alex and Lena got back together or if the characters lived or died after Requiem. The author, Lauren Oliver, claimed that she wanted fans to create their own ending to the series.
Season Three. In "Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks!", it is revealed that Lena was adopted by Violet's fathers, essentially becoming her adopted sister.

FOX has picked up Lauren Oliver's Delirium for a TV series. Only a pilot has been ordered for now, but it was penned by Karyn Usher (Prison Break) and Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope will join Usher as EPs. The cast has begun filming for the pilot as shown by tweets from actors.

Overall you should not let a 12 year old watch this unless you're absolutely sure your child will be fine with it but anywhere over 12 you're fine to watch it if you would like, but ask you're parent first, it's not my decision. 3 people found this helpful.

Violence includes gunfire, with one death and injuries, a brief sexual assault, and talk of children hurt or killed. Swearing is prevalent, but doesn't go beyond "s--t." Characters kiss, grope, and remove clothing with talk of wanting to have sex. At the core of Shatter Me is the idea of power.
